Chat Room Safety Guide

The number one threat on a teen chat room is yourself! you have the power to let the person you are conversating with have as much information about you as you like. We strongly suggest that you give as little information about yourself as possible. If you feel you are building a relationship with someone and you wish to pursue it further it is of your own risk and we will not take any responsibility for the outcome. We suggest you tell a parent if you are in a situation about this before you act, you should also join the #help chat room by clicking on the 'chat help' link and talk to the moderators about your situation. We can run background checks on anyone in the chat rooms and give you information on the person which could prove vital.

Think very hard before you act in the chat rooms, consider the good and bad that will come from your actions, it's very easy to get permanently banned in our chat rooms as we operate to strict guidelines to ensure the safety of our users, but more important think about how what you are about to do will effect yourself. We fight a constant battle every day to protect our users, this includes banning members who are about to give personal information to a stranger about themselves. We can't be everywhere at once so please think first. Re-read your conversation with the person, act as if you're a third party reading on this. Did anything seem suspicious? Are there any responses from the person that bring up a cause for concern?

We take abuse in all forms very seriously on our teen chat rooms. Nobody should be subject to any serious form of abuse no matter what the circumstance may be. If you are subject to general childish banter the best option for you would be to right click the member(s) nickname and select 'Ignore User' This will prevent both parties from seeing eachothers text. If you are subject to persistant and serious abuse, if a moderator hasn't picked up on it (which they normally will) join the help chat room and inform the owners.

NEVER! under any circumstance click random links in the chat room. Unless it's from a trusted source like our server bot or an administrator, you can never be too sure. It only takes one click to give a person complete control over your computer and use your internet connection for illegal activities. Even if the link is something you could see yourself being very interested in, that is what the link is designed for. It's supposed to look intriguing and the person posting it is trying to get as many clicks as possible.

Report all suspicious activity. If you're an experienced chatter and have used any chat room many times before it is very obvious the dangerous and stupid people you need to look out for, but you should still join the help chat room and report the person. Help your fellow chatters! Some of the users in the chat room may not be as experienced as you and cannot spot the dangers as easily. You should always report the smallest incident even if you're not sure. The moderators of the help chat room will be able to check up on the person(s) being reported and give you peace of mind informing you if they are a threat or not. Normally if they are a threat you will see them quit with the message (K-lined). This means they were banned from the entire chat server.

Please be aware, yes this is a fun entertaining teen chat room, what could possible go wrong? well there are real dangers in these environments. Most of which you will never be subject to because we take serious precautions within our chat rooms and remove most potential threats, but you can never be to sure. Please think first, you will be 100% safe in even the most poorly moderated chat rooms if you just use your common sense and think about the situation you may be entering.
